Do you feel the Holy Spirit calling you to try something new? Are you wishing you could be more involved with the parish, even with your busy schedule? Are you already participating in weekly Mass each Sunday? If the answers are yes, perhaps you are being called to serve your fellow parishioners as a liturgical minister. Can you make a commitment to serving 1-2 times a month? We all have different gifts, and we are called to share them for the building up of the Body of Christ. These ministries can be a joyful experience and can draw both the minister and their family into a deeper experience of their faith. Please give some prayerful consideration to the following:
Eucharistic Minister – Do you have a deep reverence for the Blessed Sacrament? Are you a confirmed Catholic over the age of 18?
Lector – Are you drawn to Scripture from Old and New Testaments? Are you willing to lend your clear and confident voice to God during mass? Is the Lord calling you to proclaim his sacred Word to your fellow parishioners?
Your commitment to serve the St. John Paul II community at Mass on a regular basis should be a conscious decision. All Eucharistic ministers and lectors are commissioned by the pastor for a period of 3 years.
We are grateful for the many volunteer ministers that are committed to serving the Lord by helping to provide “good liturgy” for others. Thank you for your commitment to the mission of Christ, and your support of Saint John Paul II Parish! If you should have any questions, please contact the office.
